Paper Submissions and Publications

The 3 rd IEEE World Forum on Internet of Things (WF-IoT 2016) solicits two types of submissions.

  • Full papers describing original research. Suggested size is four pages; papers up to six pages will be accepted. Papers will be fully peer reviewed and, if accepted and presented, included in conference proceedings and will be submitted to the Xplore Digital Library. Extended versions of selected papers may be considered for publication in IEEE IoT Journal.
  • Extended abstracts describing emerging results of new research areas or relevant topics from an industrial point of view, not to exceed two pages.

Submission Guidelines 

  • All papers must conform, at time of submission, to the IEEE Formatting Guidelines. Please use either this Word Template or this LaTeX package. Make sure that you use US letter page format.
  • Add the copyright notice to the bottom of the first page of your source document. If necessary, contact Essaid Sabir at e.sabir@ensem.ac.ma for the appropriate copyright notice.
  • Proofread your source document thoroughly to confirm that it will require no revision.

Tutorial Submissions

Special Session Submissions

IEEE WF-IoT 2016 will be hosting a series of special sessions and invites the submission of special session proposals. They should emphasize on current topics relevant to the IoT community on the latest research, engineering, standards and business issues and should include a mix of regular and invited presentations. Special Sessions should complement the regular program with new and emerging topics of interest.

Each Special Session Proposal must include the following and should be maximum four pages:

  • Title
  • Abstract
  • Scope
  • Intended audience
  • Objective
  • Prior history (if any)
  • An outline of advertising plan
  • Brief bio of the organizers
  • Any other relevant information

Accepted Special Sessions must implement IEEE academic best practices regarding peer reviews and paper publication. Accepted and presented paper will be added to IEEE Xplore and the conference proceedings.

Workshop Submissions

IEEE WF-IoT 2016 will be hosting a series of workshops and invites the submission of workshop proposals. Workshops should emphasize on current topics relevant to the IoT community on the latest research, engineering, standards and business issues and should include a mix of regular and invited presentations. Workshops should include a mix of regular papers, invited papers, presentations and panels that encourage the participation of attendees in active discussion.

Each Special Session Proposal must include the following and should be maximum five pages:

  • Title
  • Length of the workshop (half/full day)
  • Names, contacts and a short bio (200 words) of the workshop organizers
  • Brief description of the workshop including abstract, scope and timeliness.
  • Planned format of the workshop including no. of referred papers, hot topic sessions, keynotes, and panel discussions.
  • Potential participants including TPC members and invited speakers.
  • Brief description of advertising plan
  • Prior history the workshop (if any)
  • Draft call for papers
  • Any other relevant information

Industry Forum Panel Sessions Submissions

The 2016 IEEE 3rd World Forum on Internet of Things (WF-IoT) will be hosting Industry Forum Panel Sessions. Presentation in Industrial Forum will be panelist based and panel presentation material will not be published in conference proceedings but will be available in the conference web site. Industrial Forum Panel proposal should contain an abstract, scope, intended audience, objectives, prior history, an outline, the biographical sketch of presenters and any other information that may assist in making decisions.

PhD Forum Submissions

WF-IoT 2016 features a forum where current PhD students or researchers who have defended their thesis in 2016 can present their research projects to a broad audience from academia, industry and government. The forum aims to provide constructive feedback on research projects and career opportunities with a panel of established researchers.

The forum also aims to facilitate networking among researcher in the WF-IoT community and help students establish contacts for entering the job market. The technical scope includes a wide spectrum of Internet of Things and Cyber Physical Systems topics. The WF-IoT PhD Forum is run in a highly interactive and supportive workshop-style format. Forum attendance is open to all WF-IoT registrants.

PhD Forum attendees also have the opportunity to showcase their project in the WF-IoT as a poster during WF-IoT coffee breaks in the exhibition room and will participate for a Best PhD Forum Award.

How to Submit

  1. Paper on PhD research project (max. 2-4 pages) formatted according to the WF-IoT paper submission instructions.
  2. A letter of recommendation from the supervisor attached to the proposal submission.
  3. Full contact information including affiliation, address, e-mail and phone.

Acceptance
All authors of accepted contributions will be asked to complete a copyright form and submit a camera-ready version of their paper (max. 2-4 pages). Authors of accepted PhD Forum papers must register for WF-IoT 2016 as students and present the results at the symposium within an interactive session. All accepted submissions will be published in the conference proceedings.
